Sent by the Dragon elders to rescue a clutch of stolen Dragon eggs, young Spyro and his best friend Sparx the Dragonfly find themselves in the Forgotten World, a region where an evil witch reigns supreme. On his mission to confront the Sorceress, Spyro is assisted by six other playable characters, including Sheila the kangaroo and Sgt. Byrd the military penguin. Oh, and Sparx gets his own mini-adventures too!
